 Magnetic Iron 3D Printing Filament Experience our most "attractive" material yet! Proto-pasta Magnetic Iron PLA - as its name implies - responds to magnets and behaves similarly to pure iron, even to the point of rusting! Magnetism opens up a new world of practical applications and fun creations! Currently only available in 1.75 mm diameter. 125 g (0.275 lbs) is an un-spooled loose coil. 500 g (1.1 lbs) sizes are on a plastic spool*. All material is sealed with desiccant in a plastic bag. *Our 500 g and 1500 g spools measure 8" in diameter with a 2" barrel diameter, 4" hub, and 2" traverse. Printing suggestions: We've found the Magnetic Iron PLA prints best 10-20 degrees lower than our standard PLA settings. Experiment with a range of temperatures to see what works best on your specific printer. To rust a print made with Magnetic PLA, lightly abrade the surface of your print with a wire brush to expose more iron particles to the air, then submerge in a salty solution for 2-3 days (or longer, if you're going for a very rusty look!).
